The beauty of this is that you can get super-filling, healthy snacks with no guilt! Beware, since I made these recently, and ate the entire container myself! For best results, use a dehydrator, but an oven set on low will work too.
Ingredients:
3 large SWEET onions, chopped into small pieces
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 cup hemp seeds
1/2 cup chia seeds, dry (not soaked)
1/3 cup grapeseed oil
~4 tablespoons gluten free tamari or soy sauce
Directions:
Mix all ingredients together and taste. Add additional tamari by the tablespoon, tasting after each additional tablespoon until you reach your desired level of flavor.
Dehydrator instructions:
Spread onto teflon lined dehydrating sheets, to approximately 1/4 inch thickness. Do your best to spread evenly. Set on 120 degrees x 2 hours, then lower to 105. Flip after ~8 hours, then dehydrate another 6-8 hours, until you reach your favorite texture.
Oven instructions:
Spread onto baking sheets ~ 1/4 inch thick. Preheat oven to lowest temp (usually 200). Place into oven, and bake for approximately 1 hour. Flip over, and bake for another 30-60 minutes, depending on how crispy you'd like your crackers!
Enjoy!
